The Origins of Claudette’s:

Claudette Pearl was a French Canadian immigrant who moved to Nantucket with all ten of her brothers and sisters as a young child. She always thrived on cooking and baking. She founded the first professional catering service on Nantucket, located in ‘Sconset in 1965. She established a reputation for efficient, reliable and excellent food for all occasions. She especially specialized in throwing Clambakes for her clients. She raised 9 children while doing so. In 1968, Claudette opened Claudette’s in downtown ‘Sconset.

Her son, John has owned and operated Claudette’s for the past 30 years. He continues to emulate his mother’s love for baking and food through serving fresh, healthy sandwiches at Claudettes. Claudettes is open seasonally, starting in May, and ending in mid-October. Come by and grab a sandwich!
